About Shannon
Shannon Harrison is a wife of 34 years, a mother of 2 adult children, grandmother to the cutest grandson ever, and a music teacher and performer dedicated to inspiring and connecting through music.
With a background in classical guitar at the University of Hawaii, she teaches guitar, ukulele, beginner piano/keyboard, and singing because she believes accessing intended pitch with your body demonstrates that you really understand the melody or chord you want, regardless if you want to be a singer. Once you can sing on pitch, your confidence goes up and singing is actually very good for you.
While overcoming stage fright herself, Shannon's teaching style is encouraging, creative, and personalized. She strives to help her students build confidence while developing strong musical foundations. Whether teaching beginners their first chords or helping experienced musicians grow artistically, Shannon focuses on making music both meaningful and enjoyable.
Age is no issue. Shannon believes you are never too young or too old. Shannon is available for private lessons in person, online.
Shannon is available for solo performances on guitar and as a duo with her husband Sean. Contact directly to talk about your musical needs.

What People Say
I have had the good fortune of discovering Shannon as a guitar teacher. Starting a new vesture, such as leaning how to play a musical instrument, so late in life can be a big challenge to begin. And then the student finding the right teacher. Shannon has been patient with me, teaching me basic guitar and music theory. She has the ability to explain things to a novice. I especially appreciate her ability to take a song I brought up and help me learn how to interpret it, rather than just playing the chords.
I can heartily recommend Shannon as an instructor and as a great person.

My son started his guitar journey with Shannon just shy of his 9th birthday. At the time he was her youngest student. We could not have asked for a better teacher to foster his love of music and interest in learning guitar. Shannon is such an amazing teacher and truly cares and invests in her students. My son really gravitated to Shannon and loved his time with her. Together they built a great foundation of classical theory and technique. He really thrived under her tutelage and continues to improve his skills that he built with Shannon. I can't recommend her enough!
